We spent our eighth day as a moving day from Yosemite down to the edge of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. We knew the road out of our RV park would be challenging so we started with me driving the car to make the trip easier on the RV. I drove the first few hours and then we hooked back up at Merced. Our next stop was Costco in Fresno- Mom and the kids got in line for lunch while Nick and I grabbed some more groceries we needed for the rest of the week.
We only had one hour left to get to our park- Sequoia RV Ranch in Three Rivers. This drive was beautiful- we drove past Lemon Cove, aptly named for the countless lemon groves surrounding the little community. And then we drove by Lake Kaweah, a gorgeous lake that the road outlined for miles. We also passed several ranches with sleek, young muscular horses of every color, signs showing horse riding lessons and horse training.
Sequoia RV Ranch is on the North Fork Kaweah River and our site backed up to it, so once we were settled, the kids immediately went fishing and exploring, coating their bottom halves first in river water, and then in layers of sand next to the RV while Nick grilled burgers. Our site here was quite large and the boys enjoyed their glow in the dark spike ball set after the sun went down.
